GHK-CU

GHK-Cu (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine copper complex) is a naturally occurring copper-binding tripeptide first isolated from human plasma in 1973. The peptide consists of three amino acids (Gly-His-Lys) complexed with copper(II) ions through high-affinity chelation. This coordination stabilizes copper in a redox-controlled form suitable for experimental systems.

GHK-Cu levels in human plasma decrease significantly with age-from approximately 200 ng/mL at age 20 to 80 ng/mL by age 60-making it a compound of significant interest in aging and regenerative research.
